Why we built this

I'm Josh Stafford, and the first version of this was for one person: my wife, Chrystal.

We got married recently, and afterwards Chrystal wanted to do the obvious thing: share her favourite photos from the day with the people who were there, and quietly leave out the ones she would rather nobody saw.

There was nothing that did it. Plenty of ways to dump every photo somewhere and hope for the best, and plenty that made the guests do the work, but nothing that let her choose what stayed. So she asked me to build her something that would.

Once it existed, it seemed a waste to keep it. Every couple has the same two problems — the photographer's set arrives weeks later and needs curating, and the guests have hundreds of photos nobody will ever see. So we made it something anyone getting married can use.

That is the whole story, and it is why the product is shaped the way it is. You decide what stays, your guests add what they took, and the gallery is yours rather than ours.
