How we handle your personal data, and your guests'. Last updated 19 August 2026.
Who we are
Newlyweds Gallery is operated by Digital Galleries Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17403040, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
You can reach us at help@newlywedsgallery.com or through our contact page.
What we collect
If you buy a gallery, we hold:
- The names you choose for your gallery, and your email address.
- The web address you chose.
- Anything you enter in your settings: your wedding date, venue and welcome message.
- Every photo you upload, and the captions, ordering and crops you apply to them.
- A record that you paid, which plan you are on, and when your storage runs out. We never see or store your card details.
If you are a guest in someone's gallery, we hold:
- The name and email address you entered to sign in.
- Any photos you upload.
- Which photos you liked, any comments you left, and the photos you saved to your own collection.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. There are no third-party scripts on this site, and the only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in, which the site cannot work without.
Photographs of people
Wedding photographs are personal data about everyone in them, and often include children. The couple decides who is invited to their gallery and what stays in it. If you appear in a photo you would rather was not there, ask the couple first, because they can remove any photo in their gallery themselves. If that is not possible, contact us.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
- To provide the gallery you paid for, or the gallery you were invited to. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To take payment and keep the records tax law requires us to keep. This is a legal obligation.
- To email you about your own gallery, including when your storage is about to run out. This is our legitimate interest in you not losing your photos unexpectedly.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing to your guests.
How long we keep it
Your gallery and everything in it is kept while your storage is active. That is three months from the day you pay, plus any period you extend it by.
After your storage ends, the gallery stops being reachable. Download anything you want to keep before that point.
Records of payments are kept for as long as tax law requires, separately from your gallery.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us holding it, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell gallery owners by email.
